SIS (Smoldering, Immense, Shaft)

SIS (Smoldering, Immense, Shaft) written by: WeeKittyAndTAT

Summary: Bella is deaf and due to her disability, she is unable to do the one thing she's always wanted to do, follow in her father's footsteps and be a firefighter. Overcoming the hatefulness of several people, she works in the firehouse, but can she be the saving grace in a scary emergency situation?

Ramble: I know that this is at least the second time I am reading this story.  This is probably one of my favorite stories from one of my favorite author duo.  Maybe it is because of my childhood dream of being a firefighter?  Something about this story just pulls me right in.  I mean not only does it have fire fighting, and libraries, it also has mentions of ASL, which I think is one of the most beautiful languages I've come across so far.

Shadowed Grey

Shadowed Grey written by: Ravyn

Summary: Recovering from an accident, Kaoru finds herself not only dealing with injuries that have left her temporarily blind… but with a vampire whose attentions she doesn’t quite know what to make of. One shot. B/K.

Ramble:  Another vampire based story.  This time, their blood has special healing powers.  What vampires do in this story is not really described.  I mean there are some ideas, but very little mention of blood shed.

How to Win the Heart of a Poet

How to Win the Heart of a Poet written by:  Dawnr

Summary:When Elizabeth Bennet;s computer company runs into difficulties, she calls an outside consulting firm, headed by Fitzwilliam Darcy.  (Meryton Reading Room)

Ramble:  Pretty different from the basic story.  The misunderstanding is different, and the ending of the story seems fitting.  I have to admit that there were snippets from a book in the story that I skipped over.  One of these days, I might read it if I ever reread the story.  There are posted sequels to this story, and I might get to them one of these days, but we will have to see how things go.

Characteristics of a Misunderstanding

Characteristics of a Misunderstanding written by: DawnR

Summary: There are times when first impressions are unreliable at best. A short story where two people discover that there is more to the other than meets the eye.  (Meryton Reading, need username and password)

Ramble:  A short one shot that doesn't really follow the original story that much.  It actually starts with Jane's marriage.  There are some things that are present from the original story, but for the most part I really like this quick read.  There is a short time jump at the end for the epilogue and the story ends up finishing up really nicely.  The ending is enough to give a finished feel to the story will allowing readers to imagine how things continue for the two of them.

Seeing Bella

Seeing Bella written by: sherryola

Summary: Alice has a vision of a girl with no vision. She will either save Edward from his life of lonely brooding, or she will destroy him with his destruction of her. Can Bella discover the Cullen family secret if she can't see? Canon vamps and couples. AU

Ramble:  This is an amazing story!!!  Every now and then I enjoy reading a story like this.  I look forward to going through this story again and leaving reviews as I go (I don't like leaving reviews when I'm on mobile so I try to go back and backtrack when I am on my computer).  Between the awesome story, recs at the end, and especially the author notes, I'm hooked.  Part of me wants to go through and read through the notes again because there are some good resources in there about accessibility.  For some reason, getting things accessible to people is something I like to learn more about.  I've tried to play around with some of the ease of access stuff on my computer before, I had little to no luck with that (it was difficult for me to set some of the stuff up, let alone use it).  Well, here I am going off topic.  I'll stop here, but I look forward to following this author to see what other stories this author will write and share.

Meals On Wheels

Meals On Wheels written by: ALWAYS-B-HAPPY

Summary: After a terrible accident Bella moves to Forks. Edward falls for her and helps her heal emotionally. Along with sweet fluff. Full Summary Chap.1 Cullens are vamps, B human, Wolves may come in later. Cannon pairings. M FOR A REASON

Ramble:  I will admit that the title of the story mislead me for a bit.  This has nothing to do with bring people food.  Edward in this story is super duper sweet!  Like some other stories, I am not too crazy about Renee in this story.  *quick spoiler alert* So a big difference here is the fact that Bella gets pregnant (with twins) and is changed after she gives birth.  There are some pretty interesting stuff that happens that makes the epilogue that much more interesting.

Letting Down the Walls

Letting Down the Walls written by: Edward's my obsession1971

Summary: Bella is a transfer to U Dub from Phoenix with severe self-esteem issues from a chronic disease. Edward is a med school student seeing patents at his Dad's practice. When they meet, will Bella let Edward in her life or is she too damaged for love?

Ramble:  *spoiler alert for the ramble* Edward is training to be a doctor, working under his father for some of the cases.  Bella is introduced to the Cullen family through school (except Edward).  At first, Edward is involved in treating Bella before he gets pulled from the case because of his personal relationship with her.  There is a crazy Jacob with a kidnapping scene that seems really familiar to me.  I can't quite place it, but there are parts that I thought were similar to something else I've read before.  One setback I am finding with working on the posts like this, is the face that I cannot remember parts of the story.  For example, it took me a while to figure out why Jacob kidnaps Bella.  Now I kind of remember... stalker/creepy/obsessed person alert.

Trust, a Little Green and Easybella outtake

Trust, a Little Green and Easybella outtake written by: SqueakyZorro

Summary: Esme's perspective on what it's like to be Little Green's mom - and the difficult decisions that come with the job. Written for the Fandom Gives Back at bettigefecht's request.

Ramble:  A super wonderful story from a parent's perspective.  If you haven't read Little Green and Easybella, you really should head over and start!  This is a very interesting story, partly because it is hard to see what Esme is thinking in the original story, and this gives readers a glimpse of what she was thinking and what she went though.  At the end of the story, I remember asking myself "that's it?!?!"  I am not sure if there will be more to this story, I really hope there will be more to come one of these days.  This allowed me to take a step back and see things from a different perspective.

Buttercup

Buttercup written by: Saritadreaming

Summary: Lisabetta & Edward meet at music school. An unlikely friendship guides them both through difficult times, creating a life-long bond and helping them find their way home to the ones they love. Stand alone outtake of Betti Gefecht's Little Green&Easy Bella

Ramble: A super cute outtake of Little Green and Easy Bella. I found this to be a really good and wonderful outtake of one of the stories I've been addicted to. Right now, I am kind of sad over the fact that it took me this long to find out about the story.

Rainbow Stutters

Rainbow Stutters written by: Le Crepuscule

Summary: Insecurity meets a world of color. Can Edward stutter his way into the magnanimous Bella's life? B/E. AH.

Ramble: This is a really cute oneshot that I cam across during my first readalong just now. Edward and Bella make a really cute couple in this story. As a whole, this story is super duper sweet and good!

Learning to Love

Learning to Love written by: midnightmist101

Summary: Bella is deaf and abused by Phil. She's finally had enough and decided to Move in with Charlie. Will she learn to trust men? And what is special with a guy named Edward Cullen? Rated m just in case.

Ramble: The summary sums up this story pretty well. The only thing, is that Bella had an older sister, and Jacob is a friend from Phoenix, instead of Forks. Oh, and the fact that Bella already knows about vampires before meeting the Cullens.

It's a Sign

It's a Sign written by: CaraNo

Summary: Edward's the single father to an amzaing little girl... with a hearing disability. "Imagine my surprise when she crouched down to Emma's level... and began signing with her." Rated M for language and lemons. No angst. EPOV.

Ramble: Lots of tags for this story. Edward and Jasper each have a little girl who is deaf. Both run into relationship problems with their child's mother. Edward comes up with the music for the musicals and some jingles, where Jasper deals with more technical aspects of a production. Their girls are around the same age. Bella meets Rosalie in the gym, and runs into her again at the grocery store. The story keeps developing, and evolving. Have to wonder though, what ended up happening to Bella's request towards the end of the story....

Rolling Love

Rolling Love written by: ALWAYS-B-HAPPY

Summary: Bella moves to Forks after her mother won't take care of her anymore. How will the students react to a paralyzed new girl? What about the Cullens? ALL HUMAN.M4Safe. HIATUS will be rewritten in new direction soon.

Ramble: I really like this story, well maybe except for the ending, because the story does not feel done (am I making any sense?). Bella left her friends when her parents divorced, and is now back. She runs into her childhood friends, have some problems with Mike Newton in the story. We find out what happened to her, and caused her injuries. By the end of the story, Edward comes up with a pretty interesting idea, and I am still waiting to see what comes out of that.

Broken

Broken written by: IAmAutumnDawn

Summary: Can Bella's education as an RN prepare her for the struggle she will face caring for a wounded, traumatized vet? Or, better yet, will the war prepare Edward for the internal struggle he will battle with his pretty new nurse?

Ramble: A story that really highlights how difficult people can be sometimes. Edward has some problems in this story, that he and Bella have to try to meet in the middle for what they want. The story itself is a longer one shot and seems to speed up a lot towards the end the ending is really funny and quick. I do wish that this story is a little longer, perhaps covering some of the later days in Edward and Bella's lives and relationship down the line, but that is something totally different.

Little Green and Easybella

Little Green and Easybella written by: BettiGefecht

Summary: Bella and Edward have met before. She only remembers a silent little boy, he doesn't remember her at all. When they see each other again after years, nothing's the same any more. ExB, AU, AH. Lemon: yes. Smut: no. Entry for the "Cherry Exchange" contest

Ramble: I really like the connection Edward and Bella have in this story. Edward is an autistic child in this story, and Bella used to babysit him when he was 10. About 8 years later they see each other again, and this is where the story starts. The rest, well, read the summary for a big clue!

In Braille

In Braille submitted to: BeautifulEdwardChallenge written by:Alby Mangroves (twilighted: In Braille)

Summary: A young woman, scarred inside and out. A guilty man looking for forgiveness. Will they recognize their redemption in each other? Beauty is not just skin-deep. Beautiful Edward Challenge Anonymous Entry.

Ramble: There is a big furry matchmaker in this story. Edward and his dog goes to the hospital to play with the kids there. Bella, who was blinded in an accident is eating in the cafeteria, when she gets attacked by the big dog. The rest is pretty much history, well not really, but I don't want to give away too much... In this story, is truly a beautiful Edward!

Enjoy the Silence

Enjoy the Silence written by: CullenGirl09

Summary:

Bella has been living with her handicap her whole life. Renee couldn't handle her handicap so she took off when Bella was an infant, leaving Charlie to take care of her. She's spent her life attending special schools but will she be able to fit in at Forks High School?

Ramble: This story has a deaf Bella who was born not being able to hear. High school life (I feel) is a little exaggerated in this story (or maybe my high school was not this dramatic...). This was a pretty fast read. Although it is 14 chapters long, it goes by really fast.

Silence Speaks the Loudest

Silence Speaks the Loudest written by: Rosette-Cullen

Summary: A shy, quiet boy seeks out the solace that only his best friend can give. His hardships give light to insecurities. Entry for the Exploration of the Senses contest.

Ramble: I have to admit that this is a lower rating than usual, but this is a really sweet story. The hardship pulls the friendship even closer than other friendships. A sweet story to get the mind off of reality for a while.

The Peanut Butter Sandwich Man

The Peanut Butter Sandwich Man written by: readingmama

Summary: Edward Cullen is a man of routines. When a homeless girl distracts him from said routine, Edward finds it is time for a change. Reviewed on the Southern Fanfiction Review! An Alice sequel is now added!

Ramble: A story that tells of people struggling and meeting people that help them get back onto their feet. I don't really see the rating for this story to be so high, but then again, who am I to say what the rating should be?

Seeing the Sun

Seeing the Sun written by: butterflybetty

Summary: Bella and her parents return to Forks after being away for six years. Will her best friends welcome her back, especially when they find out she is blind? MA

Ramble: I know it has been a while since my last post, but a lot has been going on for me. That, and I have been skipping around from story to story without really finishing them... Anyways, back to this story, it is a sweet story about young love, need I say more? It is not totally predictable, and I really like how there is no 'bad guy'. It may be childish of me but it is refreshing to see a story that doesn't have people doing evil things.
